The Diploma of Permaculture Aid is for people who wish to design and implement sustainable community development projects in difficult places.
In the Diploma you’ll learn all aspects of:
- setting up community development projects
- permaculture field schools
- disaster recovery projects
- and training trainers.
To be eligible for the Diploma of Permaculture Aid, you must have completed the 10 week Internship Program.
Project leader trainees will travel Philippines, Australia and other Asian countries and learn their profession on the job under the guidance of professional project leaders. You will be challenged to come up with solutions to difficult problems to earn your qualifications.
On some projects trainees can work as field staff and earn a wage to offset training fees. Scholarships will be made available for gifted interns or people that have completed previous successful aid projects.
Project leader trainers are expected and assisted to grow from all of their experiences to successfully lead projects in the future.
Each person applying for a diploma must journal their growth process as a trainer. They must present evidence of working projects in the form of reports, photos, films, blogs and witness testimony for a peer board review.
Permaculture Aid specialists receive a Diploma of Permaculture Aid after 2 years of high-quality applied permaculture work in the field. The board is made up of three people with over 5 years field experience in overseas Permaculture Aid projects.
This board draws from a pool of allied Permaculture Aid trainers that operate from Hong Kong, Australia, Taiwan. East Timor, Malaysia and Indonesia.
